Steve Jobs gives an inch and these hackers take a mile.  A group called the iPhone Dev Team is claiming that they have already hacked the iPhone’s v2.0 software…and they have pics and video to back up their claims.

The group apparently hacked v2.0 with the iPhone 2.0 beta software that was released with the iPhone SDK.  It seems that although Apple is trying to keep the iPhone on a tight leash with their SDK, this probably won’t be the case.

What’s more interesting is that this method of hacking apparently cannot be fixed by Apple - at least with this version of the software.  In the past, this was not a big deal because users would still upgrade their devices with each new firmware release to get new features and patches.  But, with the SDK available and lots of third party apps upcoming, it seems that perhaps users will be happy with a 2.0 device indefinitely.

Apple should eventually get the message and open up the iPhone completely.  It is probably costing the company a bundle to continuously close these holes…and hackers always seem to find a way to open the device back up.

Can’t wait for v2.0 to see if this hack is legit.

This whole Elliot Spitzer scandal has been pretty awesome, huh?  I mean, you have Spitzer, who fought corruption resigning today for visiting a prostitute…eight times.  Then you have his replacement, who will become the first black governor of New York, and probably the first legally blind governor ever.

But the best part of all came out today when the info of Spitzer’s whore was published online.  And I’m talking full on MySpace and candid photos…even the girl’s song is available online.   Awesome.

Check her Myspace out here.  She has 1,805 friends and her page has had nearly 3 million views.  There is a media player for her own song, which…well…blows.  Not to mention her homepage pic (top) that looks very transvestitey.

All in all, the girl’s not bad looking…but surely not hot enough to be worth throwing away the governorship for.

Apparently this girl, whose name is Ashley Alexandra Dupre, worked for a high end prostitution service called the Emperor’s Club VIP.  And it was waaay high end, with girls making $1k to $5k per hour.  Here’s a great article with screen grabs from the Emperor’s Club website.

Spitzer got caught accidentally, really.  The feds were tapping the Emperor’s Club owners and money transfers, and Spitzer’s payments got him caught.  Note:  if you are in a public position, pay for your hookers with cash only.

It’s kind of too bad, because hiring a prostitute isn’t that big of a deal, and certainly not something that should bring down a governor.  It’s just one of those things that looks very bad…but in my opinion Spitzer should have stayed in office and just admitted he likes to fuck young whores.  Every man can understand that.
