Welcome, Sonny Ganaden!
Welcome to our little corner of the web, Mr. G! I posit that the attempted point in a previous comment will be made in short order.
This should make you feel more at home:
So, now that you’ve had a chance to look around, Sonny, why don’t you tell us all what you think of the site. Comment on some of the posts. Seriously. The more, the merrier! New and different viewpoints are enthusiastically welcomed. It gets boring sometimes just disagreeing with the same people.
Now, I know it’s kinda hard to have an opinion when everybody’s got a nom-de-plume and their ethnicity and/or political beliefs are veiled by topic-specific debate. Makes it sort of difficult to know who’s side you think you should be on, huh?
So I propose the following topics for you to pick from to start off discussion with you, our new reader:
“Why should we elect Barack Obama?”
“I only buy my clothes ‘Hawaii ne’ because . . .”
“Fuck Whitey!: Power, Class, and Struggle: the effects of colonial hegemony on multi-ethnic 20-somethings from Southern California”
I truly look forward to your learned discourse.

I’m confused is this like Ninja Gaden
Really not at all.
Come on guys, lets play fair. I don’t think sonny is multi ethnic — I thought he was hawaiian. Isn’t ganaden a hawaiian name?
Well, he does know that “kuleana” doesn’t mean “responsibility” but is best translated as “activism.” His knowledge of the Hawaiian language is so powerful he’s even able to correct Kamehameha grads who studied it for thirteen years.
Maybe he is Hawaiian.
FYI - It’s “Hawai`i nei” and not “Hawai`i ne.”
Thank you, Mr. Adams. But FYI - I wrote that in quotes. So who are you correcting?
I never claimed that I speak Hawaiian.
I was just making a correction. I wouldn’t want improper spelling of the Hawaiian language on this website, just like I wouldn’t want improper interpretations of Hawaiian words such as “kuleana.” As such, it doesn’t mean “activism.” Where the heck does one get that info from?
There’s enough misinformation on the internet and I wouldn’t want this site to join that club. Besides, I really want to hear what Mr. Ganaden has to say. I heard a rumor that he’s an attorney. Is that true?
“Where the heck does one get that info from?”
- Apparently his shirt also works as a dictionary; it said “Kuleana: Activism for Activists.” Thus, “kuleana” must mean “activism” right?
“I heard a rumor that he’s an attorney. Is that true?”
- No, he’s not an attorney, though not for want of numerous attempts at the title. The rumour you heard was false.
And, pray tell! Where did you hear this rumour?
